John has LL.B (Hons.) and LL.M Degrees from the University of London. He was called to the Bar by Lincolns Inn and served his pupillage with His Honour Judge Eugene Cotran before he was appointed to the Bench. He is an accredited Immigration Practitioner by the Bar Council and is a Member of the Bar Association for Commerce Finance and Industry. Whenever possible, he will endeavour to agree a fixed fee.
John’s experience includes, but not exclusively, being a Crown Prosecutor in the Director of Public Prosecutions Office, practising in employment in the Government Legal Service advising on all areas of Common Law and also on prosecutions for breaches of Health and Safety Law, Immigration, Landlord and Tenant, Wills and Probate.
He has appeared in many cases at different Court levels, including in the reported case of:
BELL - V - DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS OF JAMAICA AND ANOTHER [1985] 2 All ER 585-593 in the Privy Council.
John is authorised by the Bar Council to receive instructions direct from members of the public without going through a third person, like a solicitor, thereby saving time and money to the client.
